DIY Bed Frame Transformation: Styling Our New Linen Bedding

About a year ago, we DIY’d this bed frame, and while it’s been great, it took me a little longer to find the perfect bedding. But I’m excited to share that I finally found it! I went with a linen set from Brooklinen in their new color, Khaki Chambray, and I couldn’t be happier with the vibe it’s bringing to the room.

Today, I’m styling the bed in three different looks, using pieces I already own. Of course, I’d love to know which one is your favorite!

Look 1: Tone-on-Tone Neutral Elegance

For the first look, I went with a tone-on-tone approach. When working with neutrals, I think it’s important to add texture to keep things interesting. So, I layered a quilt that’s almost the exact same shade as the bedding, but the texture difference is what really makes it pop. It’s subtle, soft, and very serene.

This look is perfect if you’re aiming for a calming, minimalist aesthetic. The quilt adds just enough depth to break up the monotony, while still keeping the palette neutral and soothing.

Look 2: Mix and Match with Greens

Next up, I decided to switch things up by mixing and matching different sets. I have several green pieces already, so I combined three different shades of green for this look. It might sound a bit over the top, but I’m kind of into it! The variations of green bring a fresh and earthy vibe, creating more visual interest without feeling chaotic.

This look is great for those who like a little more playfulness and personality in their bedding. It’s a bit more adventurous but still grounded by the neutral tones of the Khaki Chambray.

Look 3: Layered Casual Comfort

For the final look, I took that same quilt from Look 1 and layered it under the duvet. The result is a slightly more structured but still relaxed feel. You could style this look a little more casually too, for that perfectly “messy” lived-in vibe. I love how linen naturally lends itself to this aesthetic—there’s something so effortless about it.

This set from Brooklinen is already super soft, but the best part about linen is that it just gets better with every wash. It’s durable, breathable, and gives off that perfect cozy-but-cool look. Definitely worth the investment, in my opinion!

Which Look is Your Favorite?

I’m excited to hear your thoughts! Which of the three looks resonates with you the most—neutral and textured, mix-and-match greens, or layered casual?

Let me know what you think and happy styling!

  • Look 3 is my pick, although I would use look 1 week one , look 2 week 2 and look 3 for week 3 just to change things up a bit.
