Invisible Cooktops: The Next Big Thing in Kitchen Design

Today, I'm going to be talking about an emerging trend in the kitchen industry. What is it, you ask? Well, it's called invisible cooktops. I'm serious, invisible cooktops!

I am so excited about this kitchen design element, and no, this is not a paid promotion. I am currently doing research on a kitchen remodel for a client, and because I like being on the cutting edge of design, I start every project by searching out emerging trends in the area.

I like to identify what I think will be a passing trend and what will be around for a while. And if it's going to be around for a while, especially technology, I like to try to incorporate it into that project. And this here is going to be around for a while.

What am I talking about? I am talking about the invisible cooktop:

Redesign Recommends!

Loving this trend? Check out this highly recommended induction cookware set that Amazon reviewers swear by!

One minute you have a countertop that you can set your groceries down on, your phone, your purse, anything. And a minute later, in the same spot, you can boil a pot of water in seconds. This genius technology is not new, but how it's being used is. The invisible cooktop uses induction heating to create this unique kitchen design element.

Here's how it works: the induction cooktop is installed just underneath your granite, porcelain, or marble countertops.

You first need to turn it on using the control panel.

Once on, the induction heat travels through the cooktop to create an invisible cooking surface.

It only heats up when the sensors detect the presence of induction cookware. The cooktop will not heat up otherwise.

Your induction cookware needs to be made of cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, or enameled pots and pans:

When the invisible cooktop is not in use, you have newfound counter space that's not being taken up by a traditional cooktop. You clean the surface just like you would normally clean your countertops, and what you end up with is a beautiful stone countertop that is also superior in function.

And you know you always hear me say, great design marries aesthetics and function.

Now listen, if you're looking for a wow factor in your kitchen, add the invisible cooktop. Your design will be the talk of the town, I promise.

Listen, I wanted to quickly bring this emerging trend element to you because I know there are a lot of you out there that are about to start remodeling your kitchen, and I don't want you to look back when your kitchen is done and wish you would have incorporated the future of kitchen design.

And that's it! Thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate you joining me today. Let me know your thoughts on invisible cooktops in the comments below.

We have used induction for over 5 years. I love it. We are older and I feel the principal is safer for us and it works fine. I did not buy expensive pots and pans either. Keep an open mind. It is transformative.

Will pots eventually mar the surface over a period of time? Does the entire counter need to be replaced if the stove needs replacing, or worked on?
