Transforming Outdoor Spaces: Before and After

We're starting outside today, as we have in all of our previous videos. If you missed the last three videos leading up to this one, I encourage you to go back and check them out. For now, let's dive into the details of what we’ve accomplished in this space.

Gate

First up, let's take a look at the outside gate. It might look new to you, and that’s because it is! We had this custom-made by the contractor.

Although we’re calling it a gate, it’s actually more of a door, complete with a regular door handle, a lock, and a smooth opening and closing mechanism. It’s a beautiful entrance to the space, enhancing its functionality and aesthetics.

Walkway

Moving on, you’ll notice the walkway, which is paved with the same materials used throughout the entire area.

As we continue, you’ll see the louvered wall. This feature is designed to cover and protect from the noise pollution of the air conditioning systems. Unlike the typical lattice used in our area, this style is a fresh departure, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

Retaining Wall

The paver entrance seamlessly leads into the open space, which now includes a completed retaining wall.

This area is designed as a showcase, and I’m excited for you to see some of the after shots, including the night lighting. The LED lights under the seat wall create a lovely ambiance.

In the outdoor area, we’ve incorporated various elements, including a fire pit and a dining area, surrounded by stylish outdoor furniture.

We also added several planters, and I want to highlight a particularly cool feature. The landscapers installed drip irrigation to all the planters, which was quite a feat.

This system had to be run beneath the pavers and integrated into the hardscape. If you plan ahead, you can definitely have drip irrigation in your containers.

It’s crucial to plan the placement of your containers early on so that the drip lines can be correctly installed before the patio and pavers are laid.

You can see the thin drip lines here, ensuring that all the plants will thrive even in this challenging hardscape environment. Drip irrigation is a fantastic solution for keeping plants healthy, especially in areas where regular watering might be forgotten.

I’ll stop talking now and let you revisit the before shots and enjoy the beautiful afters:
