How to Declutter Your Linen Closet & Style the Items in There

Decluttering the most used space in your home, the linen closet, can make a significant difference in your daily routine.

As a Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker, I get to bring you useful content that you can use in your everyday life. I've partnered with Better Homes and Gardens to show you how I use their organizational essentials, available exclusively at Walmart.

Redesign Recommends!

Organize your linen closet with these recommended closet organization and storage solutions that Amazon reviewers swear by!

Linen Closet Before

A few years back, I shared our second-story linen closet. It’s long, narrow, and deep, with a funky triangle section that's hard to use.

Cube Storage Organizer

I decided to rip out the existing wire shelving and replace it with the Better Homes and Gardens Cube Storage Organizer, which comes in various colors.

Top Shelf Storage

On the top shelf, I like to keep an extra blanket or pillow for guests. I tie a pretty ribbon around the blanket to keep it from unfolding, and it looks lovely too.

Organizing Linens

A common question I get on Instagram is, “How many sheets and towels do you really need?” My answer is two to three sets of sheets per bed and three sets of towels per person.

One set goes on the bed or towel rack, one stays in the closet, and one can go in the hamper.

This system keeps your linen closet from getting out of control.

Bronze Wire Stacking Baskets

These are also from Better Homes and Gardens and are primarily used for the pantry.

They have a unique look with brass handles, are super sturdy, and stackable.

Apothecary Hand Soap

Inside one of the baskets, I keep my favorite apothecary hand soap.

I got a set from my sister and another from a good friend for Christmas. It's the little things that make me happy.

Stone Planter

Next to the soap is an adorable stone planter by Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart. It's perfect for bringing life into any space, and the planter can be removed to put whatever you need in its place.

Timeless Jars

These durable jars are ideal for storing flour, sugar, or any ingredients.

I use them to store bar soap, coconut oil, and Epsom salt.

This makes for a very relaxing and fragrant bath, leaving my skin soft while soothing aching muscles.

Hand Soap and Lotion

I love when I find a great-smelling hand soap and lotion.

These will be staples I keep on hand. The oversized bottle is beautiful, and the hand soap and lotion smell amazing without being overwhelming.

Cleaning Caddy

Our cleaning caddy is kept at the bottom along with extra rolls of toilet paper inside another stackable bin.

Collapsible Laundry Tote

I also snagged this convenient collapsible laundry tote, making it easier for guests to carry their laundry to the laundry room. It’s stylish, sturdy, and waterproof. When not in use, just fold it up and tuck it away.

That’s it! Thank you all for watching and happy organizing!
