How to Do a Luxurious Guest Bedroom Makeover

Today, I want to show you my guest bedroom makeover. When I'm designing any bedroom, comfort and, of course, style is at the top of the list. This is our main floor guest bedroom, which we recently refreshed with a focal point wall and a new bed. Most of all, it's crucial to have various lighting sources in the space.

Lighting

My guests can set the lighting level just how they want it. Right now, I'm feeling like a kid in a candy store. I want to let you experience the feeling that I felt when I unboxed my chandelier. It was such an exciting moment, getting something that I've been waiting for and wanting for a long time and enjoying it for the first time. It has a neutral color on the wall that contrasts with the combined Lamps Plus Allegri Glacier Chrome Crystal Round LED Pendant. Light brings the entire space together.

I'm taking an art deco attitude with a huge burst of glam with this round LED pendant light. If you're not experienced with electrical, please hire an electrician to get the job done safely. We hired a professional because this pendant light is 32 inches wide and it weighs 70 pounds.

So, there was a little reinforcement to make sure that the lighting fixture could support the weight of the light.

We also have 10-foot ceilings in our bedroom, so ideally, your fixture should hang 7 feet above the ground.

Wall controls

I think every bedroom should have the option to turn your lights on and off with a remote control. This is Easy Control by Tesler. It's a handheld remote-control unit that you can plug these portable outlets into any standard wall outlet. Plug as many as three accessories or appliances into them, aim the remote control at the outlets and LED power indicator, and press to turn on or off whatever is plugged into each. Please keep in mind this is for indoor use only.

Layered lighting

No one light fixture will give you everything that you need. Having layers of light is so important to me. It not only helps to bring a room to life, but it will make a room feel more inviting and more comfortable, in my opinion. I always like to start with the overhead lighting, especially if it's lacking a general source of light. Task lighting typically comes in handy anywhere you need it. The sweet spot for bedside table lamps should be between 24 to 27 inches tall. Ultimately, they should look large enough to handle your bed and nightstands.

That's it for my guest bedroom makeover. I also hope this has been helpful to you when choosing lighting for your space. Please share your guest bedroom decorating and makeover ideas in the comments below.
