A Cozy Guest Bedroom Makeover at My Sister’s House

If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen my sister’s gorgeous garden, and today we’re taking a peek inside her home for a guest bedroom makeover. We are at my baby sister’s house, and let me tell you, the transformation of her guest room into a warm, inviting space was amazing. I’m so excited to share this journey with you, along with a special thanks to Parrot Uncle for sponsoring today’s video.

A Beautiful Fandelier to Tie the Room Together

One of the stars of this makeover is the stunning chandelier-fan combo, known as a fandelier. The one we installed is the 42-inch modern down rod crystal ceiling fan, complete with a remote. Isn’t that so cool?

Just imagine: chandelier beauty with the practicality of a ceiling fan. You know how picky Twin Saal can be, but we love Parrot Uncle. Their quality is top-notch, and their shipping? Flawless. It always feels like unwrapping a piece of candy—Reese's Big Cup for me, of course!

A Little Sister DIY Magic

Now, I have to take a minute to brag on my baby sister. She is amazing when it comes to DIY projects! From putting up ceiling fans to designing accent walls, she does it all by herself.

Today’s accent wall project was completed in just one day! She gets her inspiration from places like YouTube and Pinterest, but she also has a lot of her own original ideas. Watching her tackle these home projects makes me strive to be more like her.

Putting the Room Together

Once the accent wall was finished, it was time to put the room back together.

For the guest room, we started with a crisp, new set of white sheets. My sister recently moved into this newly constructed home, so we’re thrilled to get her guest room ready—especially for when the grandbabies visit. They’ll finally have their own cozy space instead of always sleeping with Grandma (which, let’s be honest, is where they prefer to be).

We layered a soft, plush comforter that my sister picked up from Ross. It’s similar to the one I have in my burgundy room, which I found at Burlington. I love this style because it has faux fur on one side and sherpa on the other, making it perfect for these chilly fall days and the colder winter nights ahead.

Small Details Make All the Difference

One of the little touches I love is the double-folded comforter—it just adds an extra visual layer of coziness when you walk into the room.

As we continued decorating, I shared a sweet tip for our younger viewers: Take care of your bed! It’s so important for your health and comfort. Personally, I change my sheets every 3-4 days (hello, hot flashes!), but even if that’s not for you, don’t let more than two weeks go by without giving your bed a refresh. It’s a haven for rest and recovery.

A Pop of Pink and Vintage Love

Now, let’s talk about color. My baby sister, much like me, loves a pop of pink. She chose a beautiful pink comforter for this room, bringing in a soft, feminine touch.

I’m also hanging some mirrors in a pattern on the wall:

Final Reveal

We all share a love for vintage and sentimental pieces in our homes, and one of her favorite touches in this room is Miss Lucy, a doll she’s had for about 20 years. Miss Lucy now has a special spot in this guest room, adding a touch of charm and nostalgia.

Smart Shopping: OfferUp Finds

Another thing I admire about my sister is her knack for finding deals on OfferUp. Nearly 90% of the furnishings in this room came from OfferUp, including the vanity desk, stools, and most of the wall art. Those gray stools? OfferUp.

The multicolored pillow? A Ross find. One tip I’ve learned is: If you see something you love at Ross, grab it! You might not find it again.

A Stunning Fandelier Finish

We wrapped up this makeover with the installation of that stunning Parrot Uncle fandelier. Let me tell you, Friends of the Twins, it is even more breathtaking in person.

This beauty has 67 crystals and comes with nine LED bulbs, offering both brilliance and functionality. The blades are made of acrylic and have a lovely bronzy-brown color. Even better, it has a three-speed option, so you can enjoy comfort in style.

The room turned out so beautifully that I didn’t want to leave—I could see myself living in this room! And a special shout-out to my great-niece or helping Auntie get this room together. Girl, I couldn’t have done it without you!

Make Your Home a Place You Love
