Fall Home Tour With Tracy: A Cozy and Practical Approach

Today, I’m thrilled to share a new fall tour with you that I know you’re going to love. I’m so excited that Tracy is back for fall, and hopefully, for Christmas too!

You all loved her previous tour so much, and I’m thrilled she agreed to come back. Let’s dive into her beautiful home!

Hi there, my name is Tracy, and I’d like to welcome you to our fall home tour. This time, we’ll start in the potting shed, which I like to change up for each season. From there, we’ll head to the porch and then move inside. I hope you enjoy the tour!

(Look out for the cats - my kitties love to join me wherever I go!)

Potting Shed and Garden

We’ll begin around the pond and make our way through the garden to the potting shed.

This year, I kept things simple with just a few pumpkins, some flowering kale in the window boxes, and a wreath made from dried flowers from last year.

Inside the shed, I added a few fall touches—dried flowers hanging, a branch on the cabinet, and some pumpkins on the table.

I also included some dahlias picked from the garden.

Porch

As we move to the porch, you’ll see more flowering kale that I started from seed. The porch decor is very simple this year as well. I found a vintage thrifted bedspread for the daybed, and I thought the peach color was perfect for fall. The Chenille pumpkins look cute on the daybed, and I love how the hydrangeas spill over onto the porch.

This year, I used dried hydrangeas in wire decorative pieces.

I made a hydrangea wreath by simply placing hydrangeas into a grapevine wreath, and they dry right on there.

I’ve taken much of the furniture off the porch and kept just a few items for fall.

Around the front of the house, I added a vintage throw to the porch swing and left the table out with a piece of burlap, a few pumpkins, an old birdcage with hydrangeas, and a candleabra with another fern.

Interior Tour

Let’s head inside. We come in through the mudroom and into the living room. For fall, I change up the colors of the chairs and throw blankets. I switch from white to off-white.

I replaced the couch that was in the living room with one from the basement and put a dark cover on it.

I made my ottoman from an old table and a Chenille blanket, with a dust ruffle on the bottom. My vintage curtains and some candles complete the look.

My plants, which were outside, are now inside to keep them from freezing.

I’ve incorporated a red vintage chair from my great-grandma, and swapped some chairs around.

The fireplace now features twinkle lights, and my wreath from last year is made from dried straw flowers with a few knitted pumpkins.

The brick wall in the living room is actually wallpaper, but I like to add simple, natural elements for fall.

Hydrangeas, which I have a lot of, are easy to bring in and dry. I just cut them, pop them in water, and they dry on their own. Sometimes, I put them in a basket to dry. This makes a nice centerpiece. I’ve also hung dried flowers and placed a knitted pumpkin on the mantle.

This fireplace has more twinkle lights, and I’ve covered the china cabinet windows with burlap to warm it up and reduce the visual clutter.

In the kitchen, I used vintage sheets as curtains. I found these at a thrift store, cut a twin sheet in half, and added curtain hooks. I thought they looked fitting for fall.

I also placed a Chenille pumpkin and a little copper pumpkin on the table. I found this little table at a thrift store, and it fits perfectly in the kitchen.

I also updated the kitchen by painting the cupboards and removing the upper cabinets. The open shelves now feature some straw flower garland I made out of twine and straw flowers glued back-to-back.

I painted my faucet with Rub’n’Buff, and I love how it turned out. I’ll share more details about that on my blog soon.

I hope you enjoyed the tour and the fall touches throughout the house. Thanks for joining us, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!
