How to Style a Kitchen Island With Vintage & Thrifted Items
Do you want to know how to style a kitchen island? Styling a kitchen island can be so much fun since there’s a lot of space to display what you love. I just styled my kitchen island with some unusual vintage pieces. Let me show you how I styled a kitchen island and this time, it’s pretty simple.
Focal point: the bust
I love going to museums, especially in Europe. So I wanted to give my kitchen island this little fun curated collection of things with that museum vibe. So why not start with a bust? Here’s Diana and she fits perfectly.
A scale with candles
Then I have this vintage scale that I've put candles on, which I absolutely love.
A painted vase
Next up is this thrifted vase that I painted with several layers of paint so it looks very vintage.
Thrifted platter
Here’s a thrifted platter that I distressed and a vintage glass bowl filled with lemons.
Plates
I always love blue and white. I like to leave these plates out so my kids will use them instead of plastic or paper.
More vintage accessories
Here are my vintage salt and pepper shakers and vintage butter tray. This fun curated little collection of things in this vignette are items that I love and are very useful.
Placemats
I have these fun checkerboard placemats that I use for my kids. Sometimes adding different patterns, textures, and colors that you might not normally think go together makes your island look more interesting. See how these placemats look great with my bar chairs.
