Welcome Back: A Tour of Rhonda's Home Updates and Decor Inspirations

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to the channel, Friends of the Twins! This is Rhonda, and in today’s video, I’m excited to share with y’all some of the recent updates I’ve been making around the house.

Home decorating is my favorite thing to do, and I find it so relaxing to make these little changes and improvements. Let’s dive in and take a look at what I’ve been up to.

Reviving Classic Decor

Recently, I brought back some old favorites, including my huge black and gold curtain tiebacks from my Tuscan decorating days.

As a true Tuscan girl at heart, I couldn’t part with them. They’ve come back into style as I’ve started using black in my decor again. I’ve hung them up in the kitchen on long screws to accommodate their thick cords, and I just love seeing them when I walk into the room.

On the Hunt for Velvet Chairs

In the breakfast area, I’ve been searching for pretty black velvet chairs with high backs to replace the current ones. I haven’t found the perfect ones yet, but the search continues.

Touching Up Paint

I also spent some time touching up the paint around the house. With walls easily getting scuffed, it’s important to keep them looking fresh. I always keep a gallon of Colonial White on hand—a color I use throughout my home, except in the primary bathroom. This color, which I usually pick up at Home Depot, keeps my home looking cohesive and bright.

Planning the Patio

The back patio is another area I’ve been thinking about. I’m in no rush to complete it because I want to get it just right. I’m eyeing a large, hard-top gazebo, possibly 10x14 or 12x14, and I plan to wait until the end of summer for prices to drop. It’s too hot to enjoy the patio right now, but come fall, it will be the perfect spot to relax.

New Topiary Trees

To start the patio makeover, I’m incorporating beautiful boxwood topiary trees sent to me by a company called MyPoeTree.

These 2.5 ft. trees have a solid, heavy base, making them stable even in windy conditions. They look incredibly real and add a vibrant green to my outdoor decor.

I’m planning to place them in gold planters I picked up from HomeGoods for $24.99 each. To add height, I lined the bottom with tissue paper. These trees will be a centerpiece on the patio, and I can’t wait to decorate around them.

Living Room Touch-ups

Back inside, I’ve been touching up the living room walls and rearranging decor.

After refreshing my diffuser and adding a new antique-style telephone, I’m ready to hang new mirrors I found on a recent trip to Hilton Head.

These mirrors add a fresh look to the space.

Debating New Furniture

I’ve also been contemplating new furniture, particularly a new coffee table and end tables. However, to satisfy my urge for change without spending too much, I’m planning to paint the existing end tables. They’re solid wood and sturdy, and a fresh coat of paint might just do the trick.

Kitchen Vignette Refresh

In the kitchen, I decided to refresh my spring vignette after finding a beautiful bronze tray with an embellished glass bottom at a thrift store.

I brought out my candle warmer and a small wreath for a cozy vibe. The scent of my white tea candle, reminiscent of the Westin Hotel’s fragrance, completes the setup.

This tray might find a permanent spot on my coffee station. So here’s how I styled the vignette instead:
