Cozy Holiday Home Tour With Cottage Christmas Decor

Welcome to our 25 days of Christmas home tours series here at Living It Country. Today, we have a home tour that includes plenty of cottage Christmas decor you’re definitely going to enjoy.

Margaret from Cottage on Main Street is back, sharing her beautiful home and all the cottage Christmas decorating she’s put up so far this year. I adore her 1912 fixer-upper, and I think you are all going to love it too.

So without further ado, let's welcome her here and tour her beautiful home for Christmas:

Cottage Christmas decor

Hi everyone! I'm Mickey from Cottage on Main Street, and Holly from Living It Country asked me to give you a little tour of our farmhouse at Christmastime.

As you will soon be able to see, we have quite the cozy Christmas cottage going on over here, and I’m happy to share my top Christmas cottage decorating ideas with you today. I hope they please and inspire you.

Family room decorated for Christmas

Family room

This is our family room, and we really do spend a lot of time in it. I like to decorate it in a lot of the classic Christmas colors, like reds and greens, and large jingle bells.

Christmas rose centerpiece with cranberries

I also like to incorporate roses. What I did here was put cranberries inside a vase along with white roses and seeded eucalyptus.

Banister decorated with garland and berries

Over in this space, I decorated the banister, again keeping it in classic colors of red and green with garland and berries.

Cottage Christmas decorating

I have little houses lit up by twinkling lights on my shelf.

Fireplace decorated for Christmas

Plus, over here in front of our fireplace, we have a vintage horse and a vintage ladder with some eucalyptus tied on with a simple red velvet ribbon.

Dining room decorated for Christmas

Dining room

Our dining room also incorporates the traditional red and green theme. Our large farmhouse table seats a lot of family and friends.

Chipped paint for a cottage feel

You'll also notice that I use a lot of architectural salvage throughout our home. I love how chippy the paint is and how it adds to the festiveness of the season.

Nook decorated for the holidays

Nook

This is a little nook that I like to decorate for the holidays as well.

Kitchen decorated for the holidays

Kitchen

This is our kitchen. In this space, I’m also bringing in reds and greens. There is some garland at the top of the window, along with a piece of architectural salvage.

Gingerbread house

On the island, I currently have a gingerbread house.

Cottage Christmas decor

On the counters, I have a glass dessert stand with baked goods, a couple of Christmas trees, some dehydrated orange slices in a bowl, and my wooden cutting boards.
