My Go-To Console Styling Secrets for a Cozy, Chic Fall Home

Styling my home has always been one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of creating a complete and cohesive space. It's more than just arranging items; it’s about displaying the things I’ve collected and love in a way that feels personal and inviting.

This fall, I want to share two universal styling ideas that will make it easy for you to refresh your space without the stress.

I often get questions about how to style different surfaces, like console tables, coffee tables, or side tables. I have a simple formula to share with you, and it’s all about shape, color, height, texture, and negative space.

Reinforce your color palette with items you already have, and you don’t need to spend a fortune to do it. One trick I love? Paint your existing furniture to give it new life, just like I did with my console table.

Speaking of that console table, it’s from American Signature Furniture, where I’ve gotten almost all of my furniture. Originally, the table was all black, but I wanted it to blend with my current decor, so I customized it by painting it to match my accent pieces.

The lamps I added are from Pier 1, which I bought about four or five years ago.

The clear lamp bases reflect the light beautifully, while the shades bring in a hint of bling that complements the mirror and knobs on the table.

When styling, I always include a floral arrangement to soften the look. I used a dough bowl as a planter this time, adding moss balls for a rustic touch.

I used a similar aesthetic for planters on my dining room table:

It’s such a simple yet elegant way to bring texture into the space.

And here’s a tip: if you’re shopping for accessories, look for pieces that are multifunctional. This dough bowl, for example, is not just a planter—I can easily switch it up by adding candles, pumpkins, succulents, or even fruit for a gorgeous Thanksgiving centerpiece.

I bend my stems to get the right length:

Styling the lower shelf of a console table can be tricky because of the scale and height needed to make it look balanced. I added a large white gourd I found at T.J. Maxx last season and placed smaller pumpkins and pinecones around it.

On the side, I put a basket I already had, which is perfect for storing blankets, throws, or even toys for the kids or pets.

Finally, I swapped out my side table planter for these adorable tea light owls from Pier 1. They’re whimsical, fun, and stunning when lit up at night with their iron-framed glasses and ceramic bodies.

I hope these tips inspire you to get creative with your own fall decor, and I can’t wait to share more styling videos with you soon. Thank you so much for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
