How to Transition From Spring to Summer in Your Dining Room

We are going to be decorating our dining room today as well as a little console table in the back. I have been debating on what I wanted to do this season, and I’ve finally decided on some fun summer dining room decor that I’m excited to share with you today. Join me as I create a summer dining room you’re sure to feel inspired by.

I'm going to go ahead and start off with this curtain. I am using a curtain for the tablecloth because I couldn't find one in the fabric that I wanted, but this curtain is just like the linen fabric that I was going for, so I just folded it in half and ironed out all of the wrinkles.

I usually never put any type of tablecloth on my table, but I really wanted to go for more of a cottagey almost farmhouse vibe for this area. I wanted to kind of mix both of my styles in this dining room.

Right above the tablecloth, I went ahead and added a lazy susan. This one I found at HomeGoods.

And then right on top of that, I added this beautiful, almost distressed vase from Hobby Lobby.

The stems are also from Hobby Lobby. These specific ones I love. I see a lot of home decorators using these, and I finally fell for them, so I decided to purchase them.

They actually have a couple of really long branches, so I went ahead and kind of messed around with it. I wanted to give it a cascading effect on one side, so I moved it over to one side of the vase.

Right next to it, I went ahead and added this Threshold vase from Target and some florals.

Then, I also added these beautiful little mini bowls that I found at Target as well.

You could easily add salt and pepper shakers here, a napkin holder, pretty much anything that you usually use at the dining table. There are so many things that you can do with this lazy susan, which I think is so fun.

I wanted to go the extra mile, so I went ahead and pulled out these black plates. I decided to go to black to give it contrast with all of the bright colors that I already had going on in here.

I usually don't decorate with gray, but I decided to use these gray napkins. I don't know if I'm feeling it or not but for now, I think it looks cute.

I love this Magnolia egg holder from Target. I experimented by putting it on the lazy susan and also on this cutting board. I would put some hard-boiled eggs on there for breakfast.

I ended up adding a second plate with the napkin and you could totally add a little flower on top, maybe cut a little piece of baby’s breath for an accent.

Once I was comfortable with the way that the table looked, I went ahead and cleaned up the entire mess that I made. I vacuumed the rug too.

Last but not least, I wanted to go ahead and decorate this little console table that I have right in between my formal living room and the dining room.

I feel like I'm probably going to go ahead and get rid of this console table and find something different eventually because I tried to DIY it and strip it, and it really didn't end up working out. It used to be painted a dark navy blue, and you can kind of see that it looks all right, but I ruined the drawers.

Now there's this weird, empty, awkward space under it, so I'm probably going to get rid of it.

For now, I'm having a little bit of trouble styling it. I wanted to have two lamps. I just haven't found the perfect ones. So for now, I have the vintage black vase right next to it then my Feels Like Home decorating book. And then right on top, I added a magnifying glass that I found at HomeGoods.

That's pretty much everything I did. I added a tiny little candle. I didn't try too much in this area.
