My Cozy Fall Home: Seasonal, Neutral & Vintage-Inspired Decor

Hey, it’s Holly! Welcome to Living it Country! Today, I’m so excited to bring you a fall home tour featuring the lovely Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home. She’s here to share her stunning fall decor, and you are going to love it. Without further ado, let’s welcome Heidi and tour her beautiful home!

Hi, I’m Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home, and I’m thrilled to take you on a tour of my home, decorated for fall. We live on the South Shore of Massachusetts, about 20 minutes from Plymouth, in a two-family home.

My family lives on one side, and my in-laws are on the other. We have two kids still living at home—our 23-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son. Oh, and you might catch a glimpse of our rescue dog, a sweet dachshund mix who’s 11 years old and the light of our lives here at Eleanor Rose Home.

In our fall decor, you’ll notice a lot of neutral colors, which is a palette I lean toward. I’ve taken a simple approach to fall decorating this year—nothing too overt. You’ll also see a blend of vintage and new pieces, which I love because it adds character to our home.

Let me show you around! We’ll start in the kitchen, which is part of our completely open first floor. A couple of years ago, we updated the kitchen by adding a beadboard backsplash and swapping our old Formica counters for quartz.

We also removed an upper cabinet and replaced it with open shelving and some pegs.

This spring, I added a hutch that I found on Facebook Marketplace. I might eventually change its color, but for now, it works.

I’ve styled it simply with amber glass bottles, tarnished silver, and faux plants for warmth and texture. You’ll also see a pheasant print from Michaels and some pumpkins and ironstone pieces.

We’re big candy lovers here, so I made some candy jars, which you’ll notice are already half-empty!

To cover the bottom of the hutch, I made a cute apron using some fabric curtains I found on Amazon. It’s functional and hides the storage underneath.

On the adjacent shelf, I had fun styling it for the season. There’s a mix of old and new—like a turkey cookie jar from HomeGoods that looks vintage but isn’t. The art in the background is from Hearth and Hand’s fall collection, and I found the silver trophy at an antique store.

I love adding ribbons to everything, so you’ll see that on the trophy and hanging on the pegs alongside some tea towels.

I always get asked about our glass jars, where I store flour, sugar, and oats. To add a bit of character, I used some old ironstone teacups in the jars.

I also added café curtains to the kitchen window—simple cream and white stripes for fall.

I made some pumpkin bread the other day, which is a fall favorite around here. It makes the house smell amazing! I styled this corner with a wooden sign, some Mackenzie-Childs jars, and a cookbook. I love bringing out cookbooks in the fall for cozy comfort food recipes. I also DIY-ed a turkey from a thrift store—it was originally bright colors, but I spray-painted it cream and added some spoons.

I love functional decor, and our teapot is a great example—it’s cozy and practical.

Above the stove, I’ve added a small rack with pot holders, an art print, and some dried greenery from Trader Joe’s.

On the kitchen island, I kept it simple with a pie carrier from Target, some gourds, and a pumpkin spice candle.

Moving from the kitchen, you’ll see the rest of the downstairs—our sitting room and living room are all connected. This area next to the kitchen door, which leads to the pool, is fun to decorate in the fall because we don’t use the door in the cooler months.

I kept it simple with a basket, some towels, and a print from Hearth and Hand’s fall collection.

Our sitting room used to be the dining room, but with the kids getting older, we weren’t using it, so we converted it. There was some controversy on social media, but we’ve never regretted the change. I added a cozy wool plaid rug and these super comfy striped chairs.

I found some block print pillows and inexpensive heirloom-style pillows from Michaels to cozy up the space. There’s also a quilt rack I found while antiquing, perfect for draping blankets when it gets chilly.

In front of the chairs, we have our pellet stove, which makes the room so cozy on cool days.

We painted the stone around it a soft green, and I’ve styled the mantle with a simple candle holder from Hearth and Hand.

I also added new sconces from Amazon and styled them with candles. They match an antique mirror I found at a thrift store, which adds a lot of character to the room.

The dresser in the sitting room is another Facebook Marketplace find that I haven’t touched—it was already perfect. I’ve styled it with an old olive bucket filled with hydrangeas from the garden that dried beautifully on their own.

As you leave the sitting room, you enter our living room, where we have a sectional perfect for our family of four. The pictures on the wall are of the kids, and I haven’t changed those in years, though I do switch up the pillow covers seasonally.

For fall, I’ve gone with quilted covers and a cozy green plaid. I also have a fall candle burning because I love the scent of autumn—it’s so comforting.

The bookshelf is styled simply with books and a bit of greenery, and I just picked up the cutest chicken pillow from Target. I updated the lampshades over the summer and love how the pattern fits with the fall vibe. We also added botanical print curtains from Amazon.

A super easy way to bring fall into your home is by adding fall art to your TV. I search for vintage fall art on YouTube and display it, which is an easy seasonal touch. My husband even made a custom frame for our TV this summer, so it looks like a frame TV without the hefty price tag.

Baskets are another fall favorite of mine, adding texture and warmth, so I’ve styled a few around the living room with pillows.

Here’s a view from the living room into the sitting room and kitchen—I love how the neutral color palette ties everything together in our open floor plan.

That’s the tour! Thank you so much for joining me in our home today. It was so much fun to share how we’ve decorated for fall. You can follow me daily on Instagram at Eleanor Rose Home or visit us online at EleanorRoseHome.com.
