Christmas Kitchen Decor: Decorate With Me

This year, my Christmas kitchen decor theme will be filled with lots of holiday whimsy. Gingerbread, Santa, and a lot of traditional holiday colors. Lots of items came from Dollar General, Target, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels–some are new and some are old.

Kitchen corner shelves

Look at those empty shelves! I did those first.

I put up a lot of white plates and mugs, pretty red and black plaid bowls, Santa mugs in various sizes, bottlebrush trees, and nesting houses.

Here’s where I put my Christmas kitchen towels. I hung one on each end and added white ones in the middle. Then I layered a gingerbread oven mitt and hung two Christmas mugs.

I made a Christmas vignette using a plaid placemat, a canister with “snow,” and little snowflakes. I added sugar in the canister, plus Epsom salts for sparkle. I added some faux snow on top. Then I nestled some gingerbread trees and a lighted house in the “snow.”

Gingerbread cookies

I made a smaller canister with the same snow but with cookie cutters and candy canes.Next came the white cake stand. I added gingerbread “cookies” on the plate and put the dome cover on top. Then I wrapped some red garland over the canister lids.I just hope the cats won’t mess with this fun little touch!

4. The cooktop

I used to hang a mirror or wreath over the empty cooktop. This year I put up a new painting of Santa so he could keep me company while I cook.

Snow-filled canister and container of Christmas spatulas

To the left of the cooktop, I added another snow-filled canister. I added a container from Target that I filled with Christmas spatulas.

5. The oven hood and cabinet fronts

Look at the adorable sign I found at Hobby Lobby! I used Command tape to attach the sign to the rim of the oven hood. I added a wreath over the sign. Look at the adorable gingerbread ornaments I found at Hobby Lobby! I added a ribbon at the top to hang them to make the cabinets look special.

I added some large gingerbread houses in the open cabinetry. I layered in a few vintage Santa mugs.
